Convalescent Homes.
There were no "Convalescent Home" applications, but a grant was made towards the cost of
maintenance of a child in a special hospital.
The Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act, 1925.
This Act came into force on January 4th, 1926. In the County of London the local authority
for the purpose of the Act is the London County Council, who may make arrangements for a Metropolitan
Borough Council to execute and perform all their powers and duties under the Act. The
London County Council have duly delegated their powers and duties to the Paddington Borough
Council, who have decided that all these matters shall stand referred to the Maternity and Child Wei-
