The mortality of the disease last year was at the rate of 0'23 per 1,000 persons of all
ages, the mean rate for 1903-07 being 0*25 (0*26 nearly). From the figures in Table 10, it
will be seen that the local rate (there given as 0*22) was exceeded by the rates for the
Metropolis (0'31) and Willesden (0'36) only. The rate in the last named district was the
only one in excess of the quinquennial mean. After correction for sex and age (Table 23) the
Kensington rate (0*36) is found to exceed that in the Borough (0*28), as well as those of
Willesden and the Metropolis (both 0'31).
