INFANTILE DIARRHCEA.
IV.—Whey.
Heat to 100°F., add 2 teaspoonfuls of essence of rennet. Keep
at the given temperature for a few minutes. When the clot has
Fresh milk 1 pint formed strain off the clear whey, without breaking the clot, and
boil it. Sterilise the whey in bottles as usual.
V.—Albumen Water.
Dissolve the salt and milk sugar in the water. Add the whites
of three fresh eggs, taking care that the outsides of the eggs
have been well cleaned with soda and water and then with
Co d water (steri lse ) pin pure water, before the shells are broken. Break up the whites
Common sat drachm of the eggs and mix thoroughly with the solution of the
Milk sugar 9 drachms salt and milk sugar. (This preparation will not keep for more
than 24 hours, and must be kept in a cool place.)
