The mortality last year was at the rate of 0.33 per 1,000 persons, as compared with 0.09
in the previous year and means of 0.20 and 0.38 for the quinquennia 1902-06 and 1892-96
respectivelv. The rates in all Wards, except Lancaster Gate, East, were above the means.
