increase of 49.0 per cent, above the mean rate for the
five years 1886-90, and one of 18.1 per cent above that
for the years 1891-95.
The deaths of residents of North Paddington
numbered 55, equal to a death-rate of 0.59 per 1,000
of all ages, whilst the deaths of residents of South
Paddington numbered 12, equal to a rate of 0.35.
The mortalities prevailing in the three age-groups 0-1,
1-5, and 5-15 during the four years 1893-96 are given
in Table 24.
