Health Education takes a foremost place in the work of the Health Department.
Many invitations are received from schools, old people's and welfare organisations
of widely different kinds, for speakers, films and demonstrations from the Health
Education Section and by other sections of the Health Department. It is gratifying
to be able to report that many of the staff participate in satisfying the demand,
and have found that they have a talent for this sort of work. This report outlines
the work during 1969 of the Health Department staff, to whose efforts I gladly
pay tribute. I wish to thank the Town Clerk and other Chief Officers for their help
and advice during the year.
In conclusion, my thanks are due to the Chairmen and members of the relevant
Committees for the support afforded to the Department, to Dr. Waldron and to
myself during 1969.
A. W. TRANTER,
Medical Officer of Health.
