Re-inspections are made and, where these matters had not been put right, action
was taken to enforce compliance. The measuring of offices is taking place and will be
continued during 1968, in order that the overcrowding provisions can be fully implemented.
Details of registration of premises and persons employed are shown in tables 48
and 49.
Of 86 accidents reported during the year, 39 were specially investigated; most of
these accidents were of a minor character. In several instances occupiers were asked to
carry out alterations or repairs to prevent further accidents.
The conditions in shop and office premises are undoubtedly improving as a result
of this Act, and it is hoped that this trend will continue in the future.
