School for Dental Auxiliaries
i am indebted to Mr. J. V. Bingay, O.B.E., Director of the School for Dental Auxiliaries
for the following report on the work of the School:
It is with pleasure that I state that during the course of the year ended 31st December,
1967, the liaison between the School for Dental Auxiliaries and the Medical and
Dental Services of the London Borough of Lewisham has reached a stage of development
where it has been possible for students from this school, under the control
and guidance of Dr. E. Mahler, the Chief Dental Officer, to take part in formal
school inspections by giving dental health talks to children prior to the inspections
which are, of course, carried out by dental surgeons.
The Borough clinic which is situated in the school has once again proved the value
of the close co-ordination of the dental services provided by Lewisham and the
General Dental Council.
1 would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to the Deputy Mayor of
Lewisham, Councillor Mrs. C. L. Cole who, at the School's Annual Prizegiving,
welcomed our guest of honour Miss Mary Henry, S.R.N., Registrar of the General
Nursing Council, with great charm.
Finally, 1 wish to extend my grateful thanks to Dr. Waldron, and the members of
Dr. Waldron's staff, who have helped us in such an unselfish way during the past year.

carried out by the dental staff of the London Borough of Lewisham based on the
