ANIMAL BOARDING ESTABLISHMENTS ACT, 1963
Under the above Act, no person may keep a boarding establishment for animals
(i.e. dogs or cats) except under the authority of a licence granted by the local authority
for the area in which the establishment is situated. One such licence was granted
during the year.
CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, 1961
THE CHILDREN'S NIGHTDRESSES REGULATIONS, 1964
These Regulations relate, among other things, to (a) the materials used in garments,
which requires any fabric used to be of a kind capable of satisfying the requirement
of the British Standard for fabrics "described as of low flammability"; and (b) the
labelling of nightdresses made of fabrics which have been treated with chemicals
to make them safer from fire.
A number of test purchases were made and the garments submitted to an approved
laboratory for examination. Three cases of contravention of the Children's Nightdresses
