In addition to samples submitted to the public analyst or bacteriologist

enquiries made into cases of food poisoning:—

Unsound food
Approximately 41 tons of food were surrendered as unfit for human
consumption. This was dealt with by the Council's food inspectors and
consisted of meat, fruit pulp, fish, vegetables etc.
