23 infants (13 male and 10 female) thus died between the age of one
month and one year, the same number as in the previous year, and
compared with 20 the year before that. 10 of the 23 deaths were from
pneumonia and bronchitis, 2 were from congenital malformations, and
there was one each through 6 other causes, with 5 being undefined.
The number of deaths under 4 weeks of age was also the same as the
previous year, the greatest incidences being in immaturity with 13 deaths
(1 less than last year), and post-natal asphyxia and atelectasis with 11
deaths (1 more than last year).
