23 infants (14 male and 9 female) thus died between the age of one
month and one year compared with 20 in the previous year and 18 the

3 were from congenital malformations and there was one each through 2
other causes, with 4 being undefined. There was an increase of 3
in the number of deaths under 4 weeks of age, the greatest incidences
being in immaturity with 14 deaths (1 more than last year), and
post-natal asphyxia and atelectasis with 10 deaths (4 more than last year).
