SECTION E — INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD
Milk and Dairies Regulations, 1949
At the end of the year there were 111 persons registered for the
distribution of milk from premises within the borough and 21
registrations for the distribution of milk within the borough from
premises in the area of another authority.
There are no premises in the borough used as dairies.
Milk (Special Designations) Licences
Licences, which remain in operation from January 1 to December 31,
were issued during the vear as follows :—

Examination of heat.treated milk
176 samples of pasteurised milk and 9 samples of sterilised milk
were submitted for examination during the year and all were found to
be satisfactory.
Analysis of milk
During the year under review, 156 samples of milk were submitted
for examination to the public analyst by the Council's inspectors.
7 of these samples were certified as adulterated or below standard.
The average composition of the genuine samples is set out in the
following table :—
