Civil building licences
As from May, 1948 the health department has been allocated a
monthly quota of the money which can be authorised to be spent on
repair work in the borough, and the sanitary inspectors are able to
issue the necessary licences, either at the same time or following the
intimation or nuisance notice.

The following table shows the monthly value of civil building licences issued by the department, divided into parliamentary
