Refuse Removal and Disposal.

The collection of house and trade refuse is carried out by the Borough Surveyor's Department, a weekly collection being the rule. The tonnage collected in 1935 is shown below.

The main portion of the refuse is disposed of at the Destructors
situated at Molesworth Street, Lewisham, and Home Park, Syden
ham, the remainder being sent away by barges or deposited on shoots
