GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES.
Maternity and Child Welfare.
Of primary importance among the Health Services for which
the Borough Council is responsible is that which is concerned with
Maternity and Child Welfare. The Council's activities in this
direction comprise the following : —
The Municipal Maternity Home.
Clinics for Expectant Mothers.
Clinics for Mothers and Infants.
Dental Treatment.
Nursing in the Home.
The provision of Milk for necessitous Mothers and their
Infants.
The supply of Maternity Outfits.
The provision of Home Helps for confinement cases.
Home Visiting by Health Visitors
These services are closely linked up with the Voluntary
Organisations engaged in Infant Welfare work in the Borough.
Municipal Maternity Home.
The Maternity Home is situated at 41, Rushey Green, Catford.
It contains accommodation for seventeen patients, and an endeavour
is made to secure an average admission of 28 patients each month.
The particulars of the cases admitted to the Home during the
year are as follows : —
