During the period under review 1,034 Examinations were made of the sputum, blood or throat membrane and mucus of persons suspected to be suffering from either Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Enteric Fever or Diphtheria, of which 316, or 30 per cent., gave positive results.

It would appear that the facilities afforded by this
Council for these examinations are becoming better known
among the medical profession, as nearly 400 more specimens
were forwarded during 1912 than in 1911.
