Monitoring and evaluation will be conducted by the Health Education
Council and it intends to recruit three research assistants to be based at the
departments concerned. A Steering Committee has been established on
which the Director of Health Services serves. The project is expected to last
about a year and has attracted a grant of £50,000 from the Department of
Health and Social Security. The Council will not be expected to incur any
financial expenditure as a consequence of co-operation in the campaign,
but the success of this venture will depend to a great extent on the assistance
of the staff to implement the programme at its various stages and in this respect
it will be regarded in the same light as any other health education campaign.
Similarly, the co-operation of the Council will be sought in selecting and
making available suitable sites for exhibitions and lectures.
