Qualification Certificates
- The Housing Act 1969 (operable from 25th July) provides in respect of
lettings, previously controlled under the Rent Act 1957, for rents to be varied,
subject to certain conditions being met.
Applications were not received for attention by the Department until the last two months of the year.

House Purchase
Applicants for mortgages are required by the Council and the Greater
London Council to undertake to conform to the provisions of the Housing
Acts in respect of multiple occupation and to make comply with the
Regulations and Underground Rooms in the property concerned.
905 visits were made in this connection and 663 visits in respect of
property previously mortgaged to ascertain the condition and occupancy.
