HEALTH EDUCATION
Health Education in schools continued throughout the year. The mobile
health education unit visited the area frequently and a sessional medical officer
has shown films and given talks on sex education. With the increasing problems
of drug addiction, in order to inform teachers of the danger, film shows were
organised. The films shown were "Narcotics — the Decision", "Hooked" and
"Drugs and the Nervous System".
Dental Health Education received attention and mention of this is made in
the report of the Chief Dental Officer.
One school accepted an offer to show the films "Johnnie and the D.K. Robot"
and "No toothache for Eskimos".
In special schools the school nurses continued to give talks and hold discussion
groups. Films were also shown.
