Vaccination and immunisation is also done by general practitioners.
The midwifery, ambulance and mental health services are administered
direct from the Public Health Department, County Hall, S.E.1, and home nursing
is carried out on behalf of the County Council by voluntary organisations.

PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORY SERVICE
The Public Health Laboratory Service provides a comprehensive service
for the examination of specimens submitted by local authorities and general
Practitioners. The local Laboratory is situated at County Hall and is under the
direction of Dr. A.J.H. Tomlinson.
