INSPECTION OF FOOD
(i) At Shops, Stores and Factories
Large quantities of food of all varieties were inspected and
as a result the following weight of food was surrendered as unfit
for human consumption and unsound food certificates were issued :
36 tons 1 cwt. 1 qr. 14¾ lbs.
(ii) The Method of Disposal of Condemned Food
All condemned animal products are sent to firms specialising
in the making of glues and other like commodities, such vegetable
waste as is suitable is converted into pig food under the Council's
Scheme.
