2. Inspection of Food.
(i) At the Slaughterhouse:
Two pigs only were slaughtered here and no portions were
condemned. Six other pigs were slaughtered privately in the
presence of the food inspector and no parts were condemned.
(ii) At shops, stores and factories:
Fresh meat, fish, poultry, vegetables.
prepared and canned foods 63 tons 12cwt 0qrs. 9¾ lbs.
Complaints about food continue to increase. This year 67 were
received. 53 of these were justified and a list of them is set
out below:
1. Glass in luncheon galantine.
2. Mouse excrement in fancy
pastry.
3. Piece of metal in bread.
4. Glass in milk.
5. Inner surface of foil cap
corroded and black particles
floating on surface of milk.
6. Foreign matter in bread.
