Eradication of Bed-bugs.
(1) The number of houses found to be verminous and disinfested
during the year was:—
Council houses, 5; other houses, 698.
(2) The method employed for disinfesting verminous rooms is
to strip the wall paper, to loosen architraves, skirtings and picture
rails, and to apply a blowlamp to the back of the removed mouldings
and to the walls where they were fixed. The room is then thoroughly
