for that purpose by the Registrar-General for the years 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, viz., 308,702, 303,245, 293,869, 294,097,
and 294,303. These populations are the civil populations -plus all non-civilians enlisted from this country, whether serving
at home or abroad, this non-civilian element being distributed over all the districts in the country in proportion to their
estimated civilian population.
