SPECIAL MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS
Requests that children be examined at times other than the normal routine examinations,
were received from the Education Officer, head teachers etc. 3,207 (3,999) of these examinatioi
were carried out in 1968. Some of these were held at school but a large number of them were
carried out in the children's own homes.
6,231 (8,324) children were called up by the school doctors for re-inspection after the
routine medical examination.
27.1% (35.1%) of the children on the school roll were seen at these non-routine medical inspections.
