I have to thank all members of the Department for their work during the year,
but I am pleased again to express my thanks personally to Dr. J.P.J. Burns, Mr. W.C.
Bartlett, Mr. H. Plinston, and Mr. E.J. Sharp . I should also like to express
appreciation as in previous years, to Dr. Wilfrid G. Harding and his staff in Health
Division 3 of the London County Council's health services. Close contact for day-today
working purposes is maintained between the respective staffs of the London County
Council and this Department at many levels.
To the two principal Chairmen, Alderman A.J. Rogers, Public Health Committee and
Alderman E.J.W. Bayliss, Housing Committee, whose Committees dealt with the reports of
the Medical Officer of Health, I again have to express thanks both to them and to their
Committee members for their courtesy and careful consideration of the matters which it
has been my duty during the year to place before them.
V. FREEMAN,
Medical Officer of Health.
