SERVICES FOR ELDERLY PERSONS
The work done by the Public Health Department directly by the Council's own
staff, and indirectly in liaison with the Old People's Welfare Council, the Women's
Voluntary Services, and other voluntary organisations dealing with the health and
welfare of elderly persons (and also in co-ordination with the London County Council),
continues to increase. In connection with the last-mentioned authority, arrangements
have been made for the Borough Council' s visitors to supply systematic appropriate
information to the County Council to avoid duplication.
The Health Officer and her assistants visited 691 new cases during the year, and
re-visits totalled 4,224.
