1. Bacteriological Examination.
(a) Ice Cream.
Thirty nine samples of ice cream were sent for bacteriological examination and following Methylene Blue tests were graded as follows:-

Samples falling within Grades I or II are considered satisfactory.
At the end of the ice cream season a sample was taken which was not subjected
to the Methylene Blue test but was reported to contain faecal coli. The
attention of the manufacturer concerned was drawn to this and arrangements
made for further sampling to take place on the resumption of manufacture.
