Islington chest Clinic, whittlngtan Hospital.
St. pancras Chest Clinic, Margaret Street, St.' Marylebone
During the year the Regional Hospital Board, in order to equalise the
distribution of Islington patients between the Chest Clinics covering the area,
decided that patients from south-west Islington (covering approximately 40,000
Islington residents) should receive attention, if necessary, at the St.Pancras
Chest Clinic. This would relieve the pressure on the Islington Chest Clinic
and enable more work to be done at the St.Tancras Chest Clinic. There was some
concern initially that there might be inconvenience to persons referred to the
St. Pancras Clinic, but experience of the operation since the new arrangements
have been in force have indicated that the public have accepted - and indeed
appreciated - the change and that as far as is known no hardship has been caused.
