The Prevention of Damage by Pests Act came into force on 21st March and
repealed the Rats and Mice Destruction Act, 1019. In addition, the Shops Act,
1950, which is a consolidating statute, came into force on 1st October. As far as
Islington is concerned, administration remains unaltered.
Summary of Work done by District Sanitary Inspectors.
During the year 59,958 inspections or revisits were made by the District
Sanitary Inspectors. In connection with visits to dwelling-houses 61,834 inspections
or reinspections of separate lettings were made.
