SLAUGHTERMAN'S LICENCES:
One application for the renewal of a licence was received, and granted after
investigation, making a total of 25 licensed slaughtermen on the register at the end
of the year.
FOOD & DRUGS ACT, 1938. (Sampling):
874 samples (367 formal, 507 informal), were submitted to the public Analyst
for examination. Of these 9 were adulterated (or 1.03 per cent) , as shown in
the following summary:-

Whisky 1
Phosaquin Tonic 1
Informal.
Sausages 1
Fruit Squashes 2
SHOPS ACT, 1934.
The visits made were 2,892.
In addition, the Inspector made 162 visits for other reasons, e.g. foodstuffs,
rats, etc.

PUBLIC HEALTH (TUBERCULOSIS) REGULATIONS 1930.
The total number of cases of tuberculosis on the Register as at 31st December,
1942 was:-
1490 (Pulmonary - Males 745, Females 519: Non-Pulmonary - Males 119,
Females 107).
