(b) Clinic Section.— On the ground floor, with a separate entrance from
Zoffany Street, the premises include an Examination room, Waiting room, Doctor's
and Nurse's rooms, and dressing cubicles. The first floor houses the Sunlight Clinic
which consists of a Solarium with vita-glass on three sides, changing rooms, and a
room for artificial sunlight treatment. The artificial sunlight equipment consists of
one Centrosol unit with two vertical Mercury Vapour tubes and a standard
Duotherapy unit. The advantage of the Centrosol unit is that children can be
placed around this in a circle as in treatment by carbon arc. A low two-bank crib
has been specially designed for the treatment of infants. There is also a supplementary
heat radiation from ceiling suspended lamps.
The Sunlight Clinic is intended not only for Day Nursery children who may
be found to need such treatment, but also for other children under school age
recommended from other sources, such as Welfare Centres, and also for expectant
and nursing mothers who may be recommended by their doctors.
