"It is not in financial matters alone that the Committee is called upon to
advise and assist, but help has been given in a variety of other ways. The Secretary
during a morning's work may be consulted on any point ranging from a matrimonial
difficulty to the supply of a very necessary pair of boots, the boarding-out of children
under the Tuberculosis Scheme, or co-operation with a Relieving Officer as to the
helping of a family."

PUBLIC HEALTH (TUBERCULOSIS) REGULATIONS, 1930.
In accordance with the above Regulations, a tuberculosis register is kept.
This register calls for constant revision and corrections are made quarterly. Information
of any change is forwarded not only to the London County Council but to the
administrative districts to which the patients have removed and to the Islington
ruberculosis Officers. With such a large population as obtains in this Borough
and the practice of a number of patients not informing the Public Health Department
of their removal and new address, it has been found impossible to trace
everyone, but in all the circumstances the proportion of those untraced cannot be
