Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths outside the Borough.—27 inhabitants
died from accidents, or suddenly, in places outside Islington.
Transferable Deaths.—During the year 60 deaths of residents that had
occurred in outlying Institutions and other places in Provincial Boroughs were
transferred by the Registrar-General to Islington.
MORTALITY FROM THE PRINCIPAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES.
Small Pox, Measles, Scarlet Fever, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria, Fevers—
Typhus, Enteric and Continued—and Diarrhceal Diseases.
During the year 120 persons died from these diseases, the death-rate being
0.40 per 1,000 inhabitants, as contrasted with 0.65 in 1936, and a decennial average
mortality of 163 and a death-rate of 0.51 per 1,000.
In London the death-rate from epidemic diseases was 0.29.
