COMMON LODGING HOUSES.
Another transferred power delegated to the Public Health Committee on the
17th March, 1933, was the registration of common lodging houses, taking over the
duties under the Transfer of Powers (London) Order, 1933, of the registration,
licensing, inspection and regulation of common lodging houses during the year.
The Committee considered applications and renewed licences in respect of the
under-mentioned premises:—
14 and 16, Barnsbury Street, beds for 51 men.
18, 20 and 22, Barnsbury Street, beds for 78 men.
13 and 14, Duncan Terrace, beds for 63 women.
155, Englefield Road, beds for 62 men.
87, Essex Road, beds for 52 men.
89, Essex Road, beds for 35 men.
8, Flowers Mews, beds for 30 men.
104 and 106, Georges Road, beds for 34 men.
1, Gordon Place, beds for 4 men.
2, Gordon Place, beds for 4 men.
3, Gordon Place, beds for 8 men.

The total number of licences granted was 17; representing 24 premises.
Visits of inspection.—525 visits were paid by male Inspectors and 54 by women
Inspectors, a total of 579 visits.
