Tuberculosis of the Respiratory System (Phthisis or Pulmonary
Tuberculosis), caused 210 deaths, as contrasted with the decennial average of
278, while the death-rate was 0.68 per 1,000 of the civil population as against
the decennial rate of 0.87 per 1,000. There was a decrease of 68 on the ten year's
average number of deaths, and of 0.19 on the mean death-rate.
