THE VOLUNTARY WELFARE CENTRES.
The following Table is issued for comparative purposes with the similar Tabic
inserted in last year's Report (1932). This Table is compiled from the returns
provided by the Centres for information to be supplied to the Ministry of Health
for the Calendar year. The Table therefore contains in tabular form such items
as are in the main common to all the Centres, such as Consultations at the Centre,
Home Visitation by qualified Health Visitors, etc. Also, where such exist, the
return regarding Sick Wards and Convalescent Homes. The later report which is
given of the work of the Voluntary Centres is compiled from information in the
Annual Reports of the Centres, which go up to the 31st March, 1933, as the Medical
Officer of Health's report goes to press and does not cover any of the work of the
Centres beyond the year under review. Reports on the Centres therefore show a
comparable Table for the Calendar year and a review of the work of the Centres,
as contained in their individual reports, for a Centre year of which three months is
within the year and nine months, the previous year. Care has therefore to be
taken not to confuse the figures of the "Table" with the information given in the
"Review " of the work.
