PUERPERAL FEVER.
Of the 35 cases coming to the knowledge of the Medical Officer of Health
during 1932, 16 were notified by Medical Practitioners. The proportion of total
cases to births was 7.0 per thousand. The notifications were 6 above the average
(29) of the preceding ten years and showed an increase of 2.45 in the proportion of
attacks to 1,000 births.

All of the 34 cases were treated in Hospitals. 16 of these contracted the
disease in Hospital; 16 cases were removed to London County Council Hospitals;
and 18 cases were removed to the St. Mary's Islington Hospital and other London
Hospitals.
Deaths.—7 deaths were registered as being due to Puerperal Fever.
PUERPERAL PYREXIA.
Notification of Puerperal Pyrexia Regulations, 1926.—There were 64 cases
notified, as against 67 last year. Of these, 9 were Private Medical Practitioners'
cases; 52 occurred in Hospital, while 3 were certified Mid wives' cases. The
notifications were in the proportion of 12.9 per 1,000 births.

PEMPHIGUS NEONATORUM.
During the year 1932, 1 case which died in Hospital came to the knowledge
of the Medical Officer of Health (after death), and the circumstances were
investigated.
