A contribution of £25 was made to the Islington Branch of the Invalid
Children's Aid Association in respect of convalescence of invalid children under
five years of age.
Contributions for Maternity and Child Welfare Work per Case in Respect
of Work Done.
The Islington Borough Council has an arrangement with the North London
Nursing Association for the attendance, by visitation, in cases of Ophthalmia
Neonatorum, Acute Primary Pneumonia, Acute Influenzal Pneumonia, Measles,
Whooping. Cough and Epidemic Diarrhoea. The payments made to this Association,
at the rate of one shilling per visit, were:—

Contributions under arrangements for maternity cases admitted to beds at
Maternity Hospitals, the contributions being a grant of 10s. per case, were : City
of London Maternity Hospital, £110 10s. Od.; Royal Free Hospital, £19 10s. Od.
In addition to these cases of Ophthalmia Neonatorum and Marasmus are admitted
to the London County Council's Hospital (St. Margaret's), Camden Town, N.W.

DEATHS IN PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS.
Within the Borough.— 2,419 persons died in the Public Institutions
located in Islington, of whom 1,629 belonged to this Borough, the remaining 790
having come here for treatment or relief. Of the latter, 474 died in the Archway
Hospital, 153 in the Royal Northern Central Hospital, 59 in the London Fever
Hospital, and 34 in the Islington Institution and Islington Infirmary.
Of the 1,629 deaths of inhabitants, 1,187 occurred in the Islington Infirmary,
123 in the Islington Institution, and 130 in the Royal Northern Central Hospital.
The proportion which the 1,629 deaths in the Public Institutions bore to the
Borough mortality was 39.7 per cent.
