Work at the Disinfecting Station. — 53,786 large articles of bedding,
etc., as detailed below, were disinfected by the steam disinfectors, at the Council's
Disinfecting Station, compared with 48,135 similar articles disinfected during the
previous year.
In addition to the above articles, 4,527 second-hand garments, mostly overcoats,
jackets tunics and British warms were disinfected for clothing contractors
trading in the Borough, who paid the Council for the work, amounting to the sum
of £33 18s. 0d.
Altogether 58,313 articles described in the two paragraphs preceding were
disinfected. Since the disinfection station was established 2,333,637 large articles
have been disinfected.
