The fractions f, and represent the amount of cost to be charged to each
recipient.
Children living at home and earning are NOT counted as members of family
in this scale.
All milk generally to be charged for, but discretionary power given to the
Milk Sub-Committee (1) to grant free milk in certain cases and (2) to deal with
applications where the gross family income is £3 a week or more.
A modified Scale of income was adopted by the Council 26th July, 1929
(subject to approval of Ministry of Health), and operating from 1st August, 1929,
as follows:—
Per head.
6/- a week and under, after allowance for rent, Free.
6/1 to 7/5 a week, after allowance for rent, Quarter cost.
7/6 to 8/- a week, after allowance for rent, Half cost.
Children living at home and earning not to be counted as members of the
family for the purposes of the scale.
Discretionary power given to the Milk Sub-Committee to deal with applications
for milk where the gross family income is £5 a week or more.
