Recent Legislation.
Transfer of Functions (Minister of Health and Minister of Local
Government and Planning) (No. 1) Order, 1951.
This Order came into operation on 30th January, 1951, and in addition to changing
the title of the Minister of Town and Country Planning to the Minister of Local
Government and Planning, transfer to him from the Ministry of Health certain functions
relating to local government, rating and valuation, public health, housing, rent control,
burials, and coast protection.
Hydrogen Cyanide (Fumigation of Buildings) Regulations, 1951.
These Regulations, which came into operation on 1st February, 1952, revoke the
Hydrogen Cyanide (Fumigation of Buildings) Regulations, 1938. Before commencing a
fumigation, an operator is now required to give a signed statement to the occupier regarding
the precautionary measures required by the Regulations to be observed, and on completion
of the fumigation, a certificate to the effect that all necessary safety measures have
