Tuberculosis Notifications.
Excluding duplicates the total number of notifications received on Form A
or B during the year 1935 was 58, 15 other cases were brought to my knowledge
(making 73 new cases in the year). These were:—Private cases 11, hospital
cases 41, Public Assistance cases 8, from death returns 1, transfer from other
districts 12.
Of the 73 cases entered on the Register in 1935, 68 were pulmonary tuberculosis
and 5 non-pulmonary tuberculosis. Fifty-five of the cases were removed
for treatment to hospitals, sanatoria, &c.
Sleeping Conditions.
In 55 of the 73 new cases of tuberculosis in 1935 it was possible to obtain
information as to the sleeping conditions at the date of notification.
