A Public Local Inquiry was held at the Hampstead Town Hall
on the 8th and 9th February, 1937, by E. E. Hall, Esq., an Inspector
of the Ministry of Health, at which the Medical Officer of Health gave
evidence and the Ministry on 26th November confirmed the Orders
made by the London County Council.
The County Council has decided that in view of the limited
amount of new accommodation available in the north-west district of
London, it is proposed to utilise the whole of the accommodation to
be provided in the Kilburn Vale Areas for re-housing purposes in
connection with clearance operations under the Housing Acts which
takes precedence over the abatement of overcrowding.
