During the year, nine boarding schools which receive children
under 9 years of age were inspected by my staff. It is interesting to
note that two of these schools receive children under the age of three
years. The general sanitation, etc., except in isolated instances, was
found to be satisfactory, but periodical inspections, etc., will be made.
One of the schools, which is a charitable institution, has been exempted
from the provision of the Children Acts, 1908 and 1932, subject to
facilities being given for an annual inspection to be made.
