LONDON BOROUGH OF HAMMERSMITH
ANNUAL REPORT OF THE PRINCIPAL SCHOOL MEDICAL OFFICER,
INNER LONDON EDUCATION AUTHORITY (HAMMERSMITH), ON THE
SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE YEAR 1968
This report shows the extent of the work during 1968. The School Health
Service in the London Borough of Hammersmith is conducted in accordance with
the scheme for the joint use of staff provided for under Section 32 of the
London Government Act, 1963 and the smooth running of the Service has continued during 1968.

Pupils on Day School Rolls:
In December 1968 there was a total of 26,221 on the day roll. The distribution of children in the various types of schools was as follows 14,921 in 45 primary schools including 207 attending full-time and 550
attending part-time nursery classes, 9,922 in 14 secondary schools, 98 fulltime and 325 part-time in 3 nursery schools and 955 in 8 special schools
including 43 attending two units for partially-hearing children, one in a
primary and one in a secondary school.
Details of medical inspections during 1968 are summarised, and throughout the report the figures in brackets show the work carried out during
1967.
