Food & Drugs Act, 1955
Legal proceedings were taken under Section 8, Food and Drugs Act, 1955,
against the proprietor of a self-service store for having in his possession two cold
cooked chickens which were mouldy. A fine of £5 was imposed with two guineas
costs.
A large quantity of food which, although unsound did not call for action
under Section 9, was voluntarily surrendered. A list of the commodities and the
amount involved is shown below:—
