PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER,
INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
Infectious Diseases.—There were, omitting tuberculosis,
876 cases reported as due to notifiable infectious
diseases in the Borough, against 461 in the previous year.
There were also reported 237 cases of infectious diseases
that were not notified, against 64 in the previous year;
155 of these were *Measles, 57 *Whooping Cough and 25
Chickenpox.
The number of cases of Tuberculosis notified was 199
against 167 in the previous year.

BACTERIOLOGY. The following bacteriological examinations were made on behalf of the Council:—
