POST ENTRY TRAINING
In 1969, 31 members of staff successfully passed professional
or administrative examinations and 51 officers embarked upon
examination courses during the year, including 7 Social Workers
and 2 Mental Health Training Centre Staff who were granted
secondment for full-time study courses of one or two years'
duration.
The Directorate provided training facilities for 6 student Public
Health Inspectors and 6 student District Nurses. Nine students
qualified as Health Visitors in 1969 and 7 student Health Visitors
commenced training. "In-service" training courses were provided
for 30 Child Helps and 33 Attendants at old people's homes.
In addition, there were 265 attendances at refresher courses,
study days and other short courses.
